The Yemeni-British Forum for Peace and Democracy (YBFPD) extends its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy on the tragic killing of Yemeni-British citizen Mr. Wissam Qaid in Aden, Yemen—an incident that has caused profound shock and sorrow. The Yemeni-British national Wissam Qaed, who was born and raised in Sheffield, was abducted from his home. Hours later, his body was reportedly discovered in the Enmaa area of Aden. Qaed, was serving as the Acting Executive Director of the Social Fund for Development, is said to have been kidnapped by unidentified individuals.

This grievous loss is not only borne by the family and loved ones of the deceased, but is also felt by all those committed to the principles of development, peace, and humanitarian service. The circumstances surrounding this incident further underscore the serious security challenges.

The Forum reaffirms its full solidarity with Your Excellency, the Embassy team, and the bereaved family during this difficult time, and remains committed to supporting efforts that advance stability, peace, and human dignity.
