The meeting was also attended by Dr. Yassin Saeed Noman, Yemen’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Members of the UK Parliament, and Yemeni and British political and community figures.
Discussions focused on the latest political, economic, and humanitarian developments in Yemen, as well as ongoing efforts to strengthen state institutions, support the internationally recognised government, and achieve a just and lasting peace based on the agreed reference frameworks while preserving Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, security, and stability.
Participants also explored ways to strengthen Yemeni-British relations by enhancing engagement with the UK Parliament, political institutions, and decision-makers. They stressed the importance of raising awareness of the challenges facing the Yemeni people and mobilising greater political, humanitarian, and development support for Yemen.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi highlighted the important role the Yemeni-British Forum can play in building stronger links between Yemen and the United Kingdom, drawing on the expertise of the Yemeni community in Britain and promoting Yemen’s national issues within British parliamentary, political, and media circles.
Forum members reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Yemen’s state institutions and the internationally recognised leadership. They also pledged to work closely with Members of the UK Parliament and other key partners to advance Yemen’s interests, advocate for its legitimate causes, and strengthen Yemeni-British cooperation in ways that promote security, stability, and sustainable development.
Those attending welcomed the meeting as an important opportunity to exchange views on strengthening political and community cooperation, enhancing the contribution of the Yemeni diaspora and professionals in the United Kingdom, and increasing international awareness of Yemen and the challenges facing its people.
