Discussion on Supporting the Empowerment of Yemeni Youth in Political and Development Decision-Making

As part of the efforts of the Yemeni British Forum to enhance peace opportunities in Yemen and to promote effective youth participation in developing viable solutions to the Yemeni crisis, the Yemeni Advisor for Youth and Economic Affairs – and member of the Forum – Mr. Sultan Abdulqader Sultan Al-Maghles met with Mr. Alex Ballinger, Member of the British Parliament, in the British capital, London.
Mr. Sultan provided a brief overview of the challenges facing Yemeni youth amid the current circumstances affecting Yemen on various levels, which require an active presence of young people in decision-making processes. He emphasized the importance of empowering youth to participate politically and unlocking their potential to contribute positively to Yemeni society.
For his part, Mr. Alex stressed the vital role of youth in shaping better societies. He affirmed his commitment to strengthening relations between the Yemeni and British sides and to providing full support across various sectors, particularly the youth sector, which holds great promise and hope for the future.
In addition, within the framework of his current visit to the United Kingdom, Mr. Al-Mughallers and the Secretary-General of the Forum, Dr. Mahdi Mutahar, visited the Yemeni communities in the regions of Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Liverpool and London, and met with leaders and members of the Yemeni communities in those regions and provided supportive advisory awareness sessions to strengthen Yemeni-British relations and consolidate the concepts of consecrating the values of peace and coexistence and developing prospects for joint coordination between the Yemeni and British peoples in various fields, especially humanitarian and social.
The meetings received a positive impression from the Yemeni communities.
